The NDA supply chain event in Telford on the 21st July 2022 brought together the breadth of the UK nuclear industry and beyond. Galson Sciences and Egis were in attendance to show our faces and rub elbows with the great and the good of the sector.
The exhibition hall had a dizzying array of services on offer including robots, software, steel, cranes, bolts, PPE, cameras, drones, detectors and just about anything else you could need to support decommissioning or disposal. We got to meet and hear from a variety of folks that we don’t normally cross paths with and play with some of the toys and gadgets that were on offer (in pursuit of gaining a more holistic view of the industry of course). In places we could spot our own fingerprints and got to see how our work has contributed, in some small way, to the evolution of this slice of the UK’s nuclear industry.
We also got catch up in-person (in many cases for the first time in three years) with familiar faces including customers, collaborators and acquaintances from both the UK and France. A lot of people dropped by the stand to track one or other of us down or otherwise just say ‘hi’ which was a more than welcome result for our first year properly exhibiting. We got to have some very productive conversations which we’re continuing to follow up and hope will be leading to some fruitful work and collaborations in the near future.
Overall, we had a really good time and are looking forward to next year when we’re keen to be back.
